QUEENSTOWN, NEW ZEALAND
(STUDENT DESIGN PROJECT)
Tūrangawaewae, “a place to stand”. Conceived for a client who wished to create a haven for themselves and a multigenerational retreat for extended family. The three pavilions are set across the land, each echoing the others in form while expressing distinct programmes within. Together they define clear public and private realms, offering connection to others, to the landscape and to one’s inner world. The open areas stitch the pavilions together, creating a seamless flow between indoors and out, where light, shadow and materiality anchor the architecture to its place.
